Pick and place with small gantry robot

In this application simulation of a customer dealing with pneumatic cylinders, solenoid valves and accessories, a "pick & place" task that was still carried out manually was to be automated. In the end, up to 12 picks/min could be realised. In this size, the gantry has a repeat accuracy of 0.8 mm and can accommodate a payload of up to 2.5 kg. The end effector used is a Cobot pump from Schmalz, which picks up the workpiece by generating a vacuum at up to -600 bar. With a maximum payload of 3 kg, the Cobot pump is ideal for automated small parts handling.

In addition, igus gantries can be equipped with various camera systems and accessories, such as energy chain sets and much more. Typical areas of application would be bin picking or conveyor belt picking.
