Schaeffler LIFTKIT-0S | for all Cobots

The LIFTKIT-0S-500-2200-601 extends the working range of robots and cobots with an additional vertical axis, enabling operation across multiple working levels within a production cell. Installed between the machine frame and the robot, the lifting axis moves the entire robot vertically. This allows applications such as palletizing, material handling, machine tending, and packaging to be implemented efficiently when the robot’s standard vertical reach is insufficient. The 601 version is designed for small and medium-sized robots with a robot weight of up to 50 kg, a payload of up to 16 kg, and a reach of up to 1.4 m. This enables existing robotic cells to access additional process areas without requiring larger robot systems.

The 0S version was developed for vendor-independent integration into automation systems. Communication is handled via Ethernet and TCP/IP, allowing the lifting axis to be integrated into a wide variety of robot and PLC environments. Integrated script commands and a Script Library are available for implementing motion and positioning commands within existing applications. This approach offers a high degree of flexibility for machine builders and system integrators, as it eliminates dependence on a specific robot brand. The manufacturer also describes the system as suitable for control via external PLCs. As a result, the LIFTKIT-0S can be integrated into a broad range of automation concepts and adapted to individual automation requirements.

The LIFTKIT-0S combines a robust telescopic lifting column with an industrial-grade control system in a ready-to-install solution for manufacturing environments. The axis reaches speeds of up to 80 mm/s and is designed for compressive loads of up to 1,500 N. Its low-vibration motion supports stable robot positioning throughout the entire stroke range. For functional safety, redundant safety-certified relays are available, enabling a safe stop when connected to the robot’s safety outputs. In addition, variants with Safe Torque Off (STO) are available, supporting safety levels up to PLe, Category 4 according to the manufacturer. The combination of low maintenance requirements, safety functions, and a compact design simplifies integration into industrial automation cells.
